Christmas

We had a good, although somewhat different, Christmas this year. About a week early, Aaron & Brianna came for a short stay. We exchanged presents and made a yummy prime rib dinner. A day or two after they left, Danny & Tonita came up. Matt and Danny spent much of the time in the garage working on "the truck" and inhaling fumes from the makeshift paintbooth that they set up. On Christmas morning, we set up a scavenger hunt with clues that led Eli to his big present, a train table. I must add, he enjoyed the hunt more than the gift itself. Good thing we got a deal on it from Craigslist. We were all sort of stranded here in Bakersfield because the news kept predicting that all of the passes were to be closed due to the snow...this never happened. The boys (Eli, Ethan, Matt & Danny) stayed in PJ's all day and played and the girls (Kelly, Tonita, and Linda) made a wonderful ham dinner. Ethan at soooo much ham that he was up all night with a tummy ache. The next day, we went out to dinner at Tahoe Joe's for Kelly's birthday. The steak was delicious! Finally, on Saturday we all went to Lancaster and celebreated Christmas with Rick, Karen, Emily, and eventually Kyle. Again, the meal was great, turkey and ham this time. The boys have been playing with all their new toys and games.
