Update on Ethan

After a couple days of cold-like symptoms and a couple trips to the doctors office, we finally took Ethan to the ER on Wednesday night. He was having a very difficult time breathing and had been coughing up mucus all day as well as running a fever. He was admitted that night and was diagnosed with RSV. We have been in the hospital since. We have seen some improvement with the breathing, but still a lot of coughing, congestion, and diffculty eating. He continues to get regular breathing treatments, monitorting, and has been in a humidified tent. He had been off of his acid-reflux meds so all of those symptoms came back. He is now back on his meds and they seem to be helping. The doctor was less optomistic today about us going home soon than he was yesterday. We will just be glad to have Ethan finally breathing better (most of you know that this has been somewhat of a struggle since his first week)

I've been watching movie Marathons on the hospital TV to pass the time and am unable to eat most of the hospital food due to Ethan's food allergies so I've pretty much become a vegetarian since Wedneday. I think I'll try to get a good book to occupy me for a couple of days. Feel free to call anytime.

Ethans mood has improved. He is generally happy. He likes looking at the Mickey Mouse toy they gave him and he flirts with all of the nurses. His doctor and the medical staff have been great and they are all in love with Ethan's big blue eyes.
