Back to Work

Matt has been back to work for about 3 weeks now and we are both loving it! At first Matt had mixed feelings about his new station. He was working in South Central LA and is now in Porter Ranch ( an afluent area in the San Fernando Valley) The commute is great...only about 20 minutes. And with only a couple calls a day, his back has plenty of time to continue healing. Matt was most looking forward to being able to sleep through the night at his new station. While it is true that he rarely has to run a call in the middle of the night, he quickly discovered that sleeping was not going to be easy. There are some advantages to working with very "mature" firefighters, but unfortunately they are not the most quiet sleepers. Matt definitely gets an earful of snores at night!

Eli likes Daddy's new station because it is close to home. Shortly after Matt was back to work, Kelly and Eli dropped by for a visit. As soon as Eli saw the Fire Engine he started with his siren impression. Matt opened one of the storage compartments for Eli and then Eli insisted that he open all of them. He is such a curious little guy, he had to know what was behind every door. He had a lot of fun sitting in the Engineer's seat as well. I'm sure we will be at the station often!
